This past week I stumbed upon XL Movies [LINK] which is a virtual world movie rental store. It reminds me of Blockbuster and Netfix On Demand in one except with a few extra perks. XLMovies Kidd, Owner of XL Movies, says his company if fully legitimate in Second Life. He offers no bootleg movies like most of the other movie shops in-world. New releases are offered every Tuesday and there is always older movies added to the store.

The interesting way it works is you purchase a TV from them for about 500L and place it on your land. Then you are asked to pickup a free dvd player that actually holds all the information for your movies. You just place the dvd player next to the tv and click the dvd player. All the movies bought are stored within the dvd player but not actually in the prim. It is all on a server outside Second Life so if you ever loose that dvd player all you need to do is pickup another free player and your info automatically loads into it via your UUID.

Purchase prices for a dvd rental is 600L-800L but the neat thing is that you rent the movie for life! So that means you rent the movie and it is yours forever and you can watch it as much as you want unlimited views. So for about 3 USD you get to view your movies for as long as you want. Also another feature that is useful is that if you have 2 people watching a movie, you can each watch a movie of your choice on the same screen. So if your in the mood for action and she is in the mood for romance then you can do that. Another thing that sets XL Movies apart is if you crash, you don't have to watch the whole movie again to get to the part you were at. Just click on the time index button on the dvd player and choose the amount of minutes into the movie you were and it will start up.

The selection of movies is very well and you won't be disappointed. The quality is better than anything I have seen in Second Life but just under most online video streaming sites.

Rent 3 movies and you get the 4th one free on one visit. Visit XL Movies and rent your movie today. [LINK]

Today I had the pleasure of talking with a long time friend and architect in Second Life. Kendra Ling, owner of Primo has just opened up a brand new sim. [LINK] You used to have to IM him and he would show you whatever house you would like. The interaction was great but I missed a few houses that I didn't even know he had, and I ended up buying it. I must say that the interaction is still there, he is always there ready to help you at a moments notice and the personal touch that many Second Life owners have lost is now found again.

He offers 11 normal looking houses, 2 interesting designed homes, a tree house and an apartment building, all made with the highest quality. All but 1 of the buildings offered come in furnished and unfurnished.

Traveling the sim is easy, just follow the road ways and take the dirt paths that lead up to any of the homes to get a feeling for what it would be like to live in one. Make sure to check out all the rooms and features to get an idea for the quality put into them.

All the homes come in a super easy rezzer that make it a snap to have your home setup and fit 4096 sqm and 8192 sqm respectfully. Don't forget that you can buy the fully furnished, which I recommend because it is cheaper than just buying the furniture separately and no need to do more shopping!Add ImageAdd Image Prices for the homes range from 1499 for a skybox to 9499 for a larger home. Price and quality can't be beat.

Visit the Primo Architecture Island and find the house you have always been looking for. [LINK]

You can also visit Primo on Xstreet SL! [LINK]

When you first land in Anthony77777 Bandit's jewelry store called Bandit [SLURL], you instantly feel like you are shopping for jewelry in a real life store.  He takes it a step up from the normal prim with a texture and makes what seems like individual diamonds that look near perfect.

The use of black background cases and making the diamonds bright wonder if he owns a store in real life.  There is a real sense of elegance when you stroll through the products offered.  The main focus is jewelry but he also has some male and female shoes.

The most expensive thing in the store was 2500L for a crown.  Rings for your Second Life wedding range from 400-1300L so no need to break the bank.  Check out the full line of watches just newly released as well as the piercings for your sweetheart.  There is a piece of jewlery for every occasion.

I know I have said, "you have to see it to believe it", many times before, but this time, I really mean it! [SLURL]

A few days ago, Eris Ashdene also known as Eris Alexandre opened up Traumatic Lounge [SLURL] on Regent Island [SLURL].  During the week they had a 16 hour straight set of live DJ's from around the world playing at the club.  Some were up to the challenge while others clearly passed out at their keyboards.

Eris Alexandre, owner of Ignitive Media and Total Trauma Radio is fairly well known within Second Life as being a business woman and excellent DJ.  She finally decided to open up her own Lounge where they are known for their electro house music.  The club almost always has people in it jamming the day away.

This club has open air so its like your in the tropics partying away.  Also in the club are laser lights that beam down from the beams above making it feel like your in a real club.  It also features multi color fog that makes the place pop.

Stop by the club today and enjoy the people around.  You won't find money squatters because there are rarely cash prizes.  Some sponsors do give out there merchandise for free which is a nice change.

Traumatic Lounge [SLURL] won't disappoint!

As I was walking around Second Life with my new hat from Argrace [SLURL] I had more than 10 people ask me where I got it.  Released back in November of 2008, I wondered how people didn't know where I got it.  I have seen the Duck dive hats around SL ever since they came out.  So these next few posts will be about the greatest baseball caps in Second Life.

At first glance you may think that my hat is only that, just a hat.  It is actually a hat with hair attached to it which gives you a two for one if you like the hair.  Shown above is the Relaxed Pony Tail which costs 250L.  For hair and a hat you can't go wrong.

You can also pick up just the hat as well as a few other hair styles that come with the hat.  They also have the same setup for men which includes 2 hair styles you can choose from as well as just the hat.

Also be sure to visit there website [LINK] to get the product updates!

I got TP'd into Greenies the other day to listen to the ever so popular DJ Eris Alexandre.  When I first arrived I was overtaken by the fact that everything was so much bigger than me.  I couldn't stop thinking how the old movie, Honey I shrunk the kids.  The detail of the whole sim is incredible for the size of the build.  Everywhere you go you really feel like you are an ant within a kitchen.  You can really see through the eyes of a bug when your so tiny.  When there are no events going on, you can always find people cruising around feeling tiny.  Be sure to check this place out [SLURL].

Kitu Lounge opened up in Second Life just about 2 weeks ago and is already becoming one of the most well known clubs in-world.  Known for its creative use of the building tools, Kitu Lounge will be sure to knock your socks off.  The most interesting part about Kitu is the use of video within the club.  When you play your video the whole pace comes to life with crazy lights flashing thought the club.  Also its unique design sets it apart from the rest.  The use of circles scattered everywhere on the ground  makes you feel like your the center of attention.  Be sure to hold on though because randomly the circles float up and down while your dancing to the tunes.

Kitu, was built by Maraschino Susa just a few weeks before Christmas.  Built and opened within a month is very impressive, especially with all the people it is getting there.  Kitu Lounge is owned by DjBlacky McMahon, a real life DJ of 12 years.  Also managed by partner Cynda Baxton.

The Kitu Lounge always has music going but you can find the best DJ's mixing it up towards the night time when the place gets packed.  Be sure to check out Kitu Lounge!
